Join us in the French Alps for a Summer of fun and learning and immerse your family into a new culture and environment!
At Alpine French School, our French language holidays for families offer a fun and immersive way for families with children aged 6-17 to learn French. With dynamic morning lessons and exciting outdoor activities like hiking, rafting, and climbing, we create a safe and enriching environment where campers build confidence, make new friends, and improve their language skills. What’s more, adults can join us whilst their children are at camp and take part in language learning as a family!
How does it work?
At our Family Camp, we have both half-day and full-day options, designed to offer flexibility and help you build your perfect family French language holiday. We make sure to schedule all adults lessons around our junior schedule to ensure every part of your holiday fits together!
Mornings Only camp
From 09:00 – 12:30, Monday to Friday, we welcome children aged 5 and up into our morning French classes. Our teachers ensure that each lesson is highly interactive and engaging, all in a warm and welcoming environment. Each session aims to reinforce the French syllabus, whilst helping children’s confidence to sky rocket, with a new perspective on how a foreign language opens doors. Children are divided into groups according to their age and level. There is a maximum of 15 students per class and we have classroom assistants on hand to ensure every child is supported.
Full Day camp
Our Full-Day Summer Camp in Morzine offers a perfect mix of French learning and adventure for children aged 6-17. Mornings are dedicated to fun, interactive French lessons, while afternoons are filled with exciting outdoor activities like hiking, rafting, and climbing. With expert teachers and experienced activity leaders, we ensure a safe, engaging, and immersive experience for all campers. Campers build confidence, make new friends, and create unforgettable memories in the heart of the French Alps.
Adult lessons
As part of our Family Camp, we offer engaging French lessons for adults while children enjoy their own activities. Taught by experienced native-speaking teachers, our classes focus on practical communication, cultural insights, and real-life conversations. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to refine your skills, our relaxed and interactive approach makes learning French enjoyable and effective.
Our teaching
The aim of all our Summer Camp lessons is to build on and enhance what both children and adults have learned in school or previous studies. For junior students, the focus is on getting them communicating in French, gaining confidence, and understanding the importance of language learning in a fun, interactive way. For adults, our lessons provide practical skills for real-life situations, helping them see that learning French is not only useful but also an enjoyable and rewarding experience beyond the traditional classroom setting.
As a standard, all of our teachers have a FLE, ‘français langue étrangère’ qualification. This is a qualification awarded jointly by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, the Ministry of Higher Education and Research and the Ministry of Culture and Communication. FLE teaching encompasses the learning process of students learning French as their second language and aims to promote and guarantee high quality teaching for each student.
All of our teachers involved in our Summer Camps are native speakers of French, equipped with extensive experience in teaching children and adults.
From beginner to advanced
At Alpine French School, we welcome both children and adults of all French levels, from complete beginners to advanced speakers. Our experienced teachers adapt lessons to each student’s ability, ensuring engaging and effective learning. We organise groups by language level, creating the best possible environment for everyone to progress and gain confidence in their French skills.
Interaction and engagement
French lessons at Alpine French School go beyond the classroom with dynamic, hands-on learning for both children and adults. Students take part in group projects, creative workshops, and real-world activities like podcast creation. Guest speakers bring language to life, while interactive games, role-playing, and practical exercises boost confidence. This engaging approach ensures that everyone learns French in a fun, meaningful, and immersive way!
‘Real life’ practice in Morzine
We bring language learning to life with real-world experiences for both children and adults! Students put their French skills into practice during trips to local spots like the chocolate shop and pottery studio. These hands-on outings encourage natural conversation, build confidence, and provide a fun, interactive way to explore French culture beyond the classroom.
Exam preparation and revision
For both students preparing for GCSE or equivalent exams and adults looking to refine their skills, we offer tailored support to boost French proficiency. Our lessons focus on key areas like speaking, listening, reading, and writing, with targeted practice and expert guidance. Through interactive activities and real-life conversations, we help build confidence and fluency, ensuring success in exams and everyday communication.

Hear from our families
Meet the Mansfield family
The Mansfield’s joined us at Summer Camp 2024. They have two children, aged 11 and 14 who were both enrolled in our Day Camp Adventure Plus programme. Here is what they have to say about their experience:
“My two children (11, 14) attended the Alpine French School for a week. They weren’t very pleased about being sent to school during the holidays. My younger one even decided she was going to get herself “expelled” on the first day! Once they actually started, they had a great time. They were in the right classes for their age and ability, the teachers were fun and they made friends quickly. The afternoon activities were excellent. Communication from the school was prompt and collaborative. I don’t hesitate to recommend.“
Meet the Marsh family
The Marsh’s joined us in 2024 with their daughter, aged 7. Having spent multiple weeks at camp, here is what they have to say about their experience:
“My 7 year old daughter had a fantastic week with Alpine French School. She met lots of new friends along with having great fun in the mornings learning the language and then the excitement of all the activities in the afternoon. A really well balanced programme with very friendly staff.“
Ready to enroll?
To ensure every child has the best experience, we ask parents to fill in our enrollment form for each of their children and include the details of the course that the parent/s would like to take. This helps us organise classes and prepare for a great Summer Camp!
