Join us in the French Alps for a Summer of fun and learning and immerse your children into a new culture and environment!
At Alpine French School, our Summer Camp offers a fun and immersive way for children aged 6-17 to learn French. With dynamic morning lessons and exciting outdoor activities like hiking, rafting, and climbing, we create a safe and enriching environment where campers build confidence, make new friends, and improve their language skills.
How does it work?
At Summer Camp, we have both half-day and full-day options, designed to offer flexibility and help you build your perfect family holiday.
Mornings Only camp
From 09:00 – 12:30, Monday to Friday, we welcome children aged 5 and up into our morning French classes. Our teachers ensure that each lesson is highly interactive and engaging, all in a warm and welcoming environment. Each session aims to reinforce the French syllabus, whilst helping children’s confidence to sky rocket, with a new perspective on how a foreign language opens doors. Children are divided into groups according to their age and level. There is a maximum of 15 students per class and we have classroom assistants on hand to ensure every child is supported.
Full Day camp
Our Full-Day Summer Camp in Morzine offers a perfect mix of French learning and adventure for children aged 6-17. Mornings are dedicated to fun, interactive French lessons, while afternoons are filled with exciting outdoor activities like hiking, rafting, and climbing. With expert teachers and experienced activity leaders, we ensure a safe, engaging, and immersive experience for all campers. Campers build confidence, make new friends, and create unforgettable memories in the heart of the French Alps.
Our teaching
The aim of all of our Summer Camp lessons is to complement and improve on what children learn at school. The main focus is on getting junior students communicating in French, having a go, gaining confidence in speaking and understanding why it is important to learn a language. We try and help students to see that learning a language is not only useful but fun too – which sometimes they don’t realise when learning in a classroom back home!
As a standard, all of our teachers have a FLE, ‘français langue étrangère’ qualification. This is a qualification awarded jointly by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, the Ministry of Higher Education and Research and the Ministry of Culture and Communication. FLE teaching encompasses the learning process of students learning French as their second language and aims to promote and guarantee high quality teaching for each student.
All of our teachers involved in our Summer Camps are native speakers of French, equipped with extensive experience in teaching children, from aged 5 through to 17.
From beginner to advanced
At Alpine French School, we welcome children of all French levels, from complete beginners to advanced speakers. Our experienced teachers adapt lessons to each student’s ability, and we organise groups by age and French level to ensure the best learning experience for everyone.
Interaction and engagement
French lessons go beyond the classroom with dynamic, hands-on learning. Campers take part in group projects, creative workshops, and real-world activities like podcast creation. Guest speakers bring language to life, while interactive games and role-playing boost confidence. This engaging approach ensures every child learns French in a fun and meaningful way!
‘Real life’ practice in Morzine
We bring language learning to life with real-world experiences! Campers put their French skills into practice during trips to local spots like the chocolate shop and pottery studio. These hands-on outings encourage natural conversation, helping children build confidence while exploring French culture in a fun and interactive way.
Exam preparation and revision
For students preparing for GCSE or equivalent exams, we offer tailored support to boost their French skills. Our lessons focus on key exam areas like speaking, listening, reading, and writing, with targeted practice and expert guidance. Through interactive activities and real-life conversations, we help build confidence and fluency to ensure exam success.

Hear from our families
Meet the Mansfield family
The Mansfield’s joined us at Summer Camp 2024. They have two children, aged 11 and 14 who were both enrolled in our Day Camp Adventure Plus programme. Here is what they have to say about their experience:
“My two children (11, 14) attended the Alpine French School for a week. They weren’t very pleased about being sent to school during the holidays. My younger one even decided she was going to get herself “expelled” on the first day! Once they actually started, they had a great time. They were in the right classes for their age and ability, the teachers were fun and they made friends quickly. The afternoon activities were excellent. Communication from the school was prompt and collaborative. I don’t hesitate to recommend.“
Meet the Marsh family
The Marsh’s joined us in 2024 with their daughter, aged 7. Having spent multiple weeks at camp, here is what they have to say about their experience:
“My 7 year old daughter had a fantastic week with Alpine French School. She met lots of new friends along with having great fun in the mornings learning the language and then the excitement of all the activities in the afternoon. A really well balanced programme with very friendly staff.“
Ready to enroll?
