The Best Summer Camps in France

So you’ve decided you’d like to attend a French summer camp – or maybe you’d like to send your child or children on a summer camp in France but you’re not sure where. Then read on…..

There are many French summer camps in France, all offering different programmes so sometimes it can seem hard to choose! It is important to do your research to find the best summer camp in France that suits you and your interests.

Paris

For those of you looking for a cultural experience above all in a city offering sightseeing, culture, shopping and the like then Paris is the obvious choice. The capital of France, Paris is famous for its monuments, museums, theatres and cultural events. Paris is a popular choice for people who have never been to France and have seen images of the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, les Champs d’Elysées and the other famous sights. However there are also other cities such as Lyon that could also be worth a look! The programme is likely to include language lessons plus activities mostly based around cultural visits and similar excursions.

The South of France

For many people, summer is about beaches and the obvious choice for this is the South of France. There are many French language summer camps in the south of France offering similar programmes of language lessons plus afternoon excursions to the beach including some sports like beach volleyball or shopping trips to the local town. A good choice for those looking for sunshine and relaxation alongside their French lessons. In the South of France, there are some famous towns that are well worth a visit such as Nice, St Tropez, Montpellier, Antibes and many of these have language schools offering different summer camps.

The West Coast

The West Coast of France from Bordeaux to Biarritz also has some of the best summer camps in France with their own individual programmes usually based around water-sports including surfing. A good choice for those water babies amongst you! The beaches are less ‘groomed’ and more natural than in the South of France and there are many small resorts and towns that are worth a visit in between Bordeaux and Biarritz along the coast.

The French or Swiss Alps

There are many French summer camps based in the French Alps and these generally offer a more sporty, adventure activity programme. A great choice for those looking for adventure and new experiences. For the sports lovers and lovers of the outdoors, this is the perfect choice! Our French summer camp falls into this category with fun language lessons in the morning followed by an action packed activity programme in the afternoons plus activities and cultural excursions at the weekend. We even have lake beaches and warm summer temperatures so our students often spend at least 1-2 afternoons plus one day at the weekend at local beaches too! We offer a residential French summer camp for 11-17 year olds plus Day Camp and Family Camp options for children from 5 years old.
