Do your kids fancy learning French in the beautiful French Alps, and having lots of fun while doing it?
Our French Summer Camp isn’t like studying French at school…
Our French Summer Camp morning lessons are all based on interactive learning, which means lots of games, songs, drama activities, arts and craft, speaking and conversation, trips around the town and much more! We aim to make our lessons as fun as possible for children, while still ensuring that they learn a lot. We think that children learn more when they don’t realize they are, or while they are simply enjoying themselves, as opposed to traditional classroom methods.
Our students come from all over the world, so French is the common language amongst the students on our French Summer Camp, meaning full immersion in the language. This summer we had children from Spain, Mexico, Germany, Belgium, Canada, the USA, Britain, Denmark, Switzerland, Holland and Russia. Children are always put in classes with other children of the same level, so no one feels either left behind, or that it’s too easy for them. It’s a great way for children to make pen friends as well!
In the afternoon children can chose to take part in further activities with our camp leader. There are a huge variety of activities available on our French Summer Camp, this year the children took part in the following:
Sports
Fun
Trips
Walks
– Nature Walk
– Forest Walk
– Night Walk with torches
A typical day on our French Summer Camp can go something like this…
9am- French Summer Camp lessons start.
Students play bingo to practice their numbers and make sure they’re awake!
Today the students are learning about shops, the names of them, what’s sold in them and how to ask for and buy items. After playing games to practice the new vocabulary and doing role-plays as shopkeeper and customer, the class heads into town. Here they have to find examples of the shops and take photographs, and also examples of the goods within the shops. They also have the opportunity to chat to local French shopkeepers.
The class returns to the centre and spend the last 30 minutes working on their project for the week, which is creating posters advertising Morzine in the summer and encouraging tourists to visit.
12.30pm- Homemade hot lunch at the centre.
Afternoon/evening- Fun Activities
Swimming at the outdoor pool in Morzine, followed by a volleyball tournament at the courts located next to the pool.
In the evening the camp leader hosts a magic show for the children to enjoy after dinner.
