Where is the best place to study French in France?

Of course this is a subjective question and the correct answer is different for everyone! However in this article, we’ll talk about some of the most popular places to take a French Intensive Course and study French in France and the advantages and disadvantages of each….

France is a beautiful country, encompassing cities, beaches, mountains and countryside. It prides itself on being able to offer the best of everything and many French people and people of other nationalities strongly agree with this statement! So if you want to study French in France, where to choose? Many of the major cities and popular tourist resorts have French schools offering French Intensive Courses and other study options. Let’s take a look at a few:

  1. Paris

Well this has to be number one doesn’t it. A beautiful city, renowned for its culture, style, buildings, restaurants, shopping, monuments, museums and so much more. It is the first place that springs to mind when you think of France and it is easy to see why. Paris boasts many language schools and many students choose Paris as a base for their French studies. However for those of you who aren’t great city-lovers, luckily there are other options….

  1. Montpellier

If you are looking to take a French Intensive Course and enjoy the sunshine at the same time, then take a look at Montpellier. A beautiful French town on the south coast, this is a popular choice with students because of its manageable size and large student population.

  1. Nice

Another French city in the south that is worth looking at is Nice. On the Côte d’Azur, Nice offers the opportunity to take a French Intensive Course in the morning and head to the beach in the afternoon! Especially popular during the summer months.

  1. Bordeaux

For the wine-lovers among you, then Bordeaux is an obvious option. With the vineyards of Saint Emilion and the Bordeaux region surrounding the city, there is beautiful countryside to be explored and beautiful wine to be drunk! And that’s not forgetting the gastronomic delights. But also remember to save time for your French Intensive Course!

  1. Morzine

If you are a fan of the outdoors and especially the mountains, then take a look at Morzine! Based in the beautiful French Alps, just one hour from Geneva airport, combine a French Intensive Course with skiing or snowboarding in the winter or hiking, mountain biking, climbing or other adventure activities in the summer. Or why not choose an invigorating French and yoga retreat? A choice for those preferring a smaller town with plenty of outdoor activities!
