Send an emailBook NowHave you ever thought about combining your passion for skiing with your interest in the French language? Students come from all over the world during the winter season for our Ski and French Courses. They ski in the mornings and then learn French in the afternoons! And at weekends they ski all day every day. Some students come just for one week, some come for the whole season….
Want to find out more about our Ski and French courses, then read on….
Students arrive on a Sunday to Morzine. Most of them fly to Geneva airport and then we arrange an airport transfer to collect them from the airport. Students have a choice of accommodation; many choose to stay in our self-catered shared apartments to meet other students, some stay in host families with local French families, some enjoy the comfort of a hotel and some arrange their own accommodation.
On Sunday afternoon or Monday morning, students head up the mountain for their first ski! Alpine French School can arrange liftpasses in advance for students to avoid the dreaded skipass queues on the first day…. Students either ski together with other students, or take lessons if they need tips! Then after a quick change and lunch, students head to Alpine French School for their French Intensive Course. This takes place from 15h00-18h15 so that students can make the most of skiing in the morning and over lunchtime before heading into the classroom to study. There is a 15-minute coffee break where students can catch up with other students.
After the lessons, Alpine French School sometimes organises a conversation group with ‘apéro’ so that students can practice their French in a relaxed environment over a glass of wine! Then students head back to their accommodation for dinner, a nice evening and maybe a spot of homework!!

“Thank you very much for the most wonderful holiday my son Grigory had in Morzine. He liked very much the school, the family, the mountains and the classes. Thank you for your time, effort and care. We would definitely recommend your school to our friend and maybe come again in the future”
“I have had a lovely time at AFS. Who knew that doing a 10 week French course could be so enjoyable? The whole AFS team are so accommodating and will always do what is in their power to make your stay more enjoyable. Being able to ski in the mornings and have lessons in the afternoons is a great system and I have enjoyed every bit of my 10 weeks here, and I feel like my French has improved!”
