SUMMER

Morzine is a picturesque traditional mountain town which is also a ski resort in the winter and a summer holiday resort in the summer months offering a huge array of sports.  A true Savoyard town which is kept very traditional through a strict planning regime. The vibrant and charming town offers great facilities including restaurants, cafés and wine-bars, cinemas, an indoor-outdoor swimming pool complex, tennis courts, an ice-rink and too many activities to name!  

In the summer temperatures range from 25°-35°C but it can be colder first thing in the morning and in the evenings, so you will always need a light jacket.  We get a lot of sunshine and the occasional thunderstorm!

Summer is a busy time of year for us at Alpine French School, with our adult’s intensive courses running each morning from mid June to late August and our six week children’s summer camp from July to mid-August.

Morzine is a great choice for a family holiday or solo adventure as there is just so much to do and enjoy in the mountains. Whether you like taking it easy and sunbathing by the lake or getting your adrenaline pumping by trying out ‘VTT’ (mountain biking), it’s undeniable that Morzine is a beautiful summer destination for all.

In 2022 we saw the Tour de France set off from the centre of Morzine, which brought an influx of tourists and excitement to the start of our summer camp. Closely followed by the ‘Harley Days’ motorbike festival, headlined by none other than Status Quo, our students had more than enough to keep them busy after their french courses.

With a very reasonably priced pass that allows use of the telecabines and ski lifts, swimming pool and many other activities (see ‘multi pass’ link: https://www.morzine-avoriaz.com/multipass.html) you can experience all that Morzine has to offer with ease and accessibility.
