INTERSEASON and day trips

Morzine is a picturesque traditional mountain town which is also a ski resort in the winter and a summer holiday resort in the summer months offering a huge array of sports.  A true Savoyard town which is kept very traditional through a strict planning regime. The vibrant and charming town offers great facilities including restaurants, cafés and wine-bars, cinemas, an indoor-outdoor swimming pool complex, tennis courts, an ice-rink and too many activities to name!  

During the interseason in Morzine (May-June and September-November) the town is very quiet and calm, less tourists visit so there are less bars and restaurants open, but it’s a beautiful time to visit if you want some peace and quiet in nature. In the spring and autumn you can enjoy hiking and walks in the beautiful mountain scenery to discover waterfalls, lakes and beautiful views of Mont Blanc. Like everywhere in Europe, the weather in the spring and autumn is more changeable.  Temperatures range from 0°-20°C.  The sun is strong and warm when it is out, but we also have some colder days too.

There is so much to see in our area and it can be a great time of year to not only enjoy Morzine, but explore the surrounding areas too! If you come by car or hire a car upon arrival, you can visit places such as:

• A morning or afternoon trip to Evian or Thonon Les Bains is well worth the short journey! Here you can find lakeside beaches where you can walk, sunbathe and take a dip in the clear turquoise waters of Lac Leman.

• Yvoire, a small medieval town just 50 minutes drive in the direction of Geneva, voted one of the most beautiful towns in France.

• Visit Switzerland including Geneva and Lausanne

• The beautiful town of Annecy is 1.5 hours away and a perfect day-trip

• Chamonix and Mont-Blanc are located 1-hour from Morzine, take in the breathtaking scenery and enjoy the picturesque town centre.

• Take a day-trip to Italy, less than 2 hours away via the Mont Blanc Tunnel

• Another city well worth a visit is Grenoble, a popular university town with a vibrant centre surrounded by stunning mountain scenery.

• Samoens and Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval are just 40-45 minutes drive from Morzine and offer beautiful hikes and natural parks.
