Interseason 2022 French Courses

Winter is over and the inter-season is finally here!

So why not take this down time to enrol in one of our French group courses this spring.

Face-to-face group courses at our School – 15 hours

7- 8 students per group

These courses are grammar based lessons to help you understand more on how the language works and practice with other students in class.

You can choose between a range of format:

Bi-weekly course in May: 2 lessons a week of 1h30 each over 5 weeks (with a break during May bank holiday)
Intensive course in June: 3 hours a day over 1 week (Monday-Friday)
Weekly groups through the summer: 1h30 per week x 10 weeks

Online guided conversational workshops (5 hours)

2-3 students per class

No grammar involved, just pure practice!

Our guided conversational workshops run online and are designed to develop confidence with speaking and help tackle general subjects in a structured manner.

Teachers will guide the session, helping you with vocabulary and providing written feedback at the end of each session. Minimum level: elementary

Workshops run as a block of 5 sessions of 1 hour with many starting dates through the year.
Select the workshop course according to your level and availability.

Levels

We will be running elementary, lower intermediate and intermediate levels in May and June and an additional beginner group in the summer for our face-to-face groups. See guideline below to check what level you are.

Public price for local residents

15 hour face-to face group: 249€

5 hour online conversation workshop: 150€

Price for local business managers

Email us on budgets@alpinefrenchschool.com so we can check if you are entitled any funding. We need at least 10 days to process applications, so contact us in good time for this option.

LEVEL GUIDE

Elementary (A1.3)

I can:

– introduce myself, say what I like and dislike, explain where I live, what I do for a living.

– ask questions and talk about myself in the present.

I struggle:

– to say what I can, want or have to do with my day

– ask complex questions like when, where, how, what etc…

I can’t:

– say what I did yesterday

– say what I’m doing tomorrow

Elementary Plus / Low intermediate (A2.2)

I can

– introduce myself and talk about my personal life.

– ask easy and complex questions in the present.

– say what I did yesterday and ask in return although I need to practise this.

– say what I’m going to do tomorrow and ask in return.

I struggle with

– telling stories and describe events in the past (he was doing this and she was saying that etc…)

I can’t:

– use pronouns like I tell him, she gives me etc…

– report a conversation (she said she was working today)

Intermediate (B1 and over)

I can

– introduce myself and talk about my personal life.

– ask easy and complex questions in the present.

– say what I did yesterday and ask in return although I need to practise this.
