French Intensive Course with skiing: Day in the Life of a student

If you’ve decided to take the plunge and enroll on our French Intensive Course combined with skiing this winter, here’s an example of what your week could be like…

You will arrive at the weekend either to your self-catered accommodation, which you will share with other students on the French Intensive Courses or to your half- board accommodation with a French host family. You will be welcomed by one of the Alpine French School staff and the week (or weeks, depending on how many weeks you’ve opted for!) ahead will be explained.

Over the weekend you will get to know your fellow students or your host family and go for a ski with your host family or with other students!

MORNING

If you’re a competent skier already and you’ve decide to not have any ski tuition, you may meet up with other students on the course and explore the huge ski area which the Portes du Soleil encompasses. Alpine French School can advise you on where to go. Or perhaps your host family will show you the local slopes. If we have organized ski tuition for you, then you will meet your instructor and start learning a fantastic new sport.

AFTERNOON

After a great morning skiing, you’ll have lunch either back at your accommodation or in one of the great cafés and restaurants located near the school.

Your French lessons start at 3 pm and you should have lots to talk about after your morning’s skiing! Our French lessons focus on speaking and listening skills and making conversational activities a priority.  Our teachers all enjoy keeping up to date with all the latest ideas in education and are constantly developing new fun lessons to ensure that students progress as much as possible while enjoying their learning with Alpine French School.

EVENING

After an afternoon of French lessons you have the whole evening to spend as you wish…

We offer optional workshops and cultural activities so you can continue your French learning after your lessons. The workshops focus on skills such as email writing, general conversation and listening. The cultural activities include wine tasting, French film evenings, journalist tasks interviewing the locals and more.

Alternatively you might want to relax at your accommodation and chat to other students or your host family.

Morzine has a great nightlife as well. You can sample some local Savoyarde food (such as cheese fondue, raclette, tartiflette and many more delicious dishes) at one of the many restaurants. Our staff can recommend our favourites to you.

You can also enjoy the lively bars and the two local nightclubs. Again we can suggest the best places to go.

Wake up the next morning and repeat for the week, or as long as you are staying in Morzine!

Courses are from 1 to 16 weeks and each week is tailor-made to your needs. They are suitable for all levels of skiing and all levels of French.

The intensive French course with skiing includes:

-Our Intensive French Course which involves 3 hours of lessons each afternoon, for 5 days.

-6 days of skiing per week (at your leisure with other students: tuition can be arranged as an extra)

-6 day Portes du Soleil full-area liftpass.

-Either accommodation in our self-catered shared apartments or half-board accommodation in one of our host families.

We can also organize for you:
