We all speak English and French!
Send an emailBook NowAlpine French School has been teaching French via Skype for years but since the lockdown because of Coronavirus around the world, more and more online platforms have become popular.
Our teachers have been trying various different online platforms during their online French courses for adults and children during this time. One of our favourites is Zoom. Zoom is a well designed online platform which is extremely simple to use. Accessible from a phone, tablet computer, laptop or a desktop, all students have to do is click a link and connect to their teacher. Once connected, Zoom doesn’t require a strong internet connection so the connection is usually stable throughout the lesson. Zoom is a great new way to do online French lessons and online French courses as there are several little tools that can make the lessons more interactive and fun for our students. Teachers can give students the control of their screen and their mouse to enable them to take part in interactive activities. Children find this a great idea and little things like this increase engagement in the lessons!
We have also been using Zoom for group online French courses which our students have loved..
Whichever platform has been used, our French online courses have been a greater success than most of our adult students and parents of our younger students expected! This is down to the professionalism, experience and training of our teachers; a great team of dedicated individuals who love sharing their knowledge and passion for language with our students. Doing the Zoom online lessons brightens up our teachers’ days during lockdown, keeps them doing what they love and creates social contacts between teachers and students in different countries all over the world. And some comments from our happy students….
“I have immensely enjoyed the intensive class this week with Lucile. From not doing any French learning for 2 years to then have the opportunity to be on this zoom online French group course has been amazing. The way she teaches is great. It has been intense but I now feel like iv been given the foundations to move forward with my French. It was completely at the right level for me. Even if I didn’t understand everything, I then went away and did homework to ensure I could follow everything the following day. She explained everything very well and the supporting paper work to compliment each day was done really well.”
“Je suis très contente avec mes leçons français. Tout va bien et je trouve que Amy est bien informée et les leçons sont bien structurés et plein d’information. Il y a un bon balance entre la grammaire, la discussion et l’information. J’apprends beaucoup et j’espère que mon français va améliorer”
“The children are loving their classes. We were very hesitant to begin with to have young children online but it is working really very well and they love the teacher”
