Whether you’re a runner, a spectator, or someone who enjoys the vibrant atmosphere of mountain festivals, there’s something for everyone.
🏔️ Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (UTMB) Week: August 25–31
Dates: August 25–31, 2025
Location: Chamonix Valley, France, Italy & Switzerland
The UTMB Week is the pinnacle of trail running, attracting elite athletes and enthusiasts from around the world. The main event, the UTMB, is a grueling 174 km race with over 9,900 meters of elevation gain, starting on Friday, August 29 at 17:45 from Chamonix’s Place du Triangle de l’Amitié. The course has been slightly modified near Les Houches for safety while preserving the classic route.
In addition to the UTMB, several other races are part of the week:
PTL (Petite Trotte à Léon): 300 km, 25,000 m+
TDS (Sur les Traces des Ducs de Savoie): 148 km, 9,300 m+
CCC (Courmayeur-Champex-Chamonix): 101 km, 6,050 m+
OCC (Orsières-Champex-Chamonix): 57 km, 3,500 m+
MCC (Martigny-Combe-Chamonix): 40 km, 2,350 m+
YCC (Youth Chamonix Courmayeur): Various distances for juniors and cadets
Beyond the races, the week features:
Ultra-Trail Village: Open daily from 09:00 to 18:00 at Place du Mont-Blanc
Fan Experience: Interactive zones for spectators, open from 10:00 to 22:00
Mini UTMB Events: Shorter races for all ages and abilities

🏃 Argentrail: A Local Favorite
Date: July 20, 2025
Location: Argentière, Chamonix Valley
While not part of the UTMB Week, Argentrail is a cherished local race that offers a unique alpine experience. The main race covers 27 km with 1,700 m+ elevation gain, starting from the center of Argentière. It follows a double loop through the villages of Le Lavancher and Peclerey, providing stunning views of Mont Blanc and the surrounding peaks.
For those seeking a shorter challenge, there’s also a 14 km option. The race is semi-autonomous, requiring participants to be self-sufficient with their gear and nutrition. It’s a perfect blend of community spirit and alpine adventure.
