ME :)
I was lucky enough to be able to join the crowds this weekend for the first lift openings of the Mountain bike season in Les Gets….. and what a weekend on the trails we all had. The weekend did not disappoint.
You know that feeling you get when it first snows after the summer has finished and you’re looking forward to Winter? It’s that same feeling (mixed with slight intrepidation, fear and cold sweats I can’t lie!)
The runs were perfect, along with the weather. There were dry parts, muddy and sticky sections which made it a whole lot of fun and challenging at the same time. Plus I couldn’t help get the feeling that all the local “awesome” riders were out, so the noise of them chasing you down through the trees made it more exciting and terrifying all at the same time.
Morzine, Les Gets and the full Portes du Soleil area is deemed to be one of the mountain bike Mecca’s of the World (maybe why Les Gets is holding the UCI Mercedes Benz Downhill World Cup Mountain Bike Championships in July 2019).
However… that been said if this isn’t your thing and you want to leave the rest of your family or friends to it… there is plenty of other things to do here. How about learning French, in the most beautiful place, with the loveliest people, in a safe environment where everyone is in the same boat?
Alpine French School offer so many different courses for all levels. They ensure the course you pick is tailored to you and I speak from experience. They will ensure you will be on the French course that suits you and your level to guarantee you get the most out of it. The best thing about the Alpine French School (other than the teachers) is that they know some of us love mountain biking, skiing, and all the other fun things that Morzine and its surrounding areas bring, so they can mix the two up and make it the best experience, along with learning French at the same time…….. you could call that PARFAIT!
