Send an emailBook NowSo you have booked your children into a French Summer Camp and you are thinking about what you need to do to prepare yourself and them for their Summer Camp. In terms of preparation, there are several things to consider. First there are the practical concerns: what should I pack, do I need to buy anything, what will the weather be like, do I need to pack anything ‘unusual’ or just the normal things I would pack for a family holiday. There is also the emotional and mental preparation: preparing your children for what the camp will be like, explaining how their stay at the French Summer Camp will work, allowing them to ask any questions they may have…..
At Alpine French School’s French Summer Camp, like most other summer camps, we provide detailed pre-arrival information including information about the weather and what is needed for activities as well as a basic packing list so that your child comes fully prepared! It is important to read the information carefully, but of course, there is always the odd forgotten item and our camp leaders are used to this. One thing that is particular to France however, is that French swimming pools don’t allow boardshort style swimming trunks for boys. If your son doesn’t want to wear traditional speedos, you can seek out some more ‘cool’ trunks either short-short style or longer slim short style that are acceptable!
In terms of emotional and mental preparation, we try and provide complete information so that you can prepare with your children for what their time at our French Summer Camp will be like. We provide detailed information about the programme including sample timetables of all the different activity options, information about our centre, our staff and much more. In addition to this, we provide a fun pre-arrival pack including some preparatory French tasks to get the French side of your child’s brain in gear and to ignite their interest in what lies ahead.
Our reservations team are in constant contact with the parents prior to the start of our French Summer Camp and are more than happy to answer any questions they may have or to talk through any concerns.
