When do the lifts open in Morzine and Avoriaz?

Always a hot question, the tourist offices of Morzine and Avoriaz have just published the lift opening dates for winter 2014-5. We have been watching the snow fall on the peaks for the last few weeks, seen pictures on social media channels and webcams of the snowfalls and we have even been up enjoying it for ourselves in Avoriaz! The lifts haven’t been open yet though, so if you want to enjoy some skiing or snowboarding, you have had to put some effort in!

The wait will soon be over though with Avoriaz announcing its opening for 12th December 2014. Avoriaz will then be open every day until the end of the season which is 26th April 2015.

The Morzine-Les Gets ski area will be partially open from 13th December 2014 and fully open from 20th December 2014 until 13th April 2015 (and possibly longer depending on snow conditions).

2013-4 saw the Pleney and Prodains cable-cars being recently replaced with faster, more comfortable lifts that can transport more people per hour than before. This year it is the turn of the chairlifts that link the Super Morzine bubble to Avoriaz. These have been replaced with faster lifts and the locations have been moved slightly to allow for easier access to and from Super Morzine.

Alpine French School is based in the heart of Morzine, 2 minutes walk from the Super Morzine and Pléney ski-lifts and the bus to take you to Prodains stops just opposite giving our French students the full choice of ski-areas on the doorstep!

Our French courses including French + Ski, French + Snowboard, French Intensive Courses and many more start from 5th January 2015 and are booking fast so please contact us for more information or to book your place.
