Learn French + Ski Course, Learn French + Snowboard Course: how do they work?

So you are interested in taking a Learn French + Ski or a Learn French + Snowboard package with Alpine French School this winter, but you aren’t sure how these work. Then read on…..

Getting here

If you come to Morzine to study French and ski or snowboard this winter, then the first thing you need to do is get to Morzine! We are just over an hour from Geneva airport and if you get a flight to Geneva, then we can arrange airport transfers directly from the airport to your accommodation in Morzine which takes the hassle out of travelling to us.

Where to stay

So now you have sorted out how to get to Morzine, where will you stay? Alpine French School offers several types of accommodation for our French and Ski or our French and Snowboard courses. Many of our students like to meet other students and stay near the centre of Morzine in our self-catered shared apartments. These are conveniently located just on the edge of the centre of Morzine, just 5 minutes walk to the school and ski-lifts.   Choose from a shared or a single room, all apartments are of a high standard with sunny terraces and come fully equipped with everything you need. We also have a teacher living onsite to provide a convivial atmosphere, French conversation and to answer any questions you may have. Alternatively you can stay in a host-family (but these aren’t as centrally located) or a hotel.

French Courses

So travel and accommodation are arranged. Now on to the French course and skiing and snowboarding. We have several formulas to suit different choices and styles of learning. Choose from a 10 hour or a 20 hour group course each week with class times of 9h-11h Monday to Friday for the 10 hour course. Or also 16h-18h Monday to Friday for a 20 hour course. Either way you get plenty of time on the slopes. Our courses focus on learning through conversation and our teachers are fully committed to this objective!

The Skiing and Snowboarding

So last but not least, how does the skiing and snowboarding work? Morzine is at the heart of the largest ski area in Europe, the Portes du Soleil. Just minutes away from the school and accommodation, there is a choice of ski-lifts just waiting to transport you to the snowy slopes of the French Alps. If you can already ski or snowboard, you probably just want to buy a skipass and head up on to the slopes with other students. If you don’t have your own equipment, we can arrange for you to hire equipment in Morzine. For those of you who can’t yet ski or snowboard or would like to improve further, we can also arrange lessons or guiding. With the timetabling of our courses, you will get to ski or snowboard every day of the week and all-day long at weekends if you have enough energy left!
