French Summer Camp in France: the activities

One of the main attractions of our French Summer Camp in France is our great activities. Read on to find out more:

Morzine is based in the French Alps so it is a great location for a French Summer Camp in France because of the amazing activities that the area has to offer. Morzine is a bustling mountain town and winter/summer resort surrounded by mountain peaks, mountain lakes & beaches, rivers and the famous Lake Geneva.

Weekday Activities: Our Standard Programme

We offer a range of activities every afternoon from 14h-17h30 on the standard activity programme at our French Summer Camp. Our camp director and leaders choose from many of the great things that Morzine has to offer to make a varied activity programme with a linguistic focus. We take campers out and about in the local area for activities such as swimming in the local lakes and pools, summer sledging, nature trails, trout fishing, sponge-ball, sports tournaments, obstacle courses and treasure hunts.

Weekday Activities: the Option Plus scheme

Adventure Activities

Many students on our French Summer Camp in France choose to upgrade to this popular option to try out some real mountain adventure activities. Students spend 3 afternoons with local French mountain guides trying thrilling activities such as climbing, canyoning, white-water rafting, mountain biking or tree-top adventure trails.

Horse-riding

Horse-riding is a popular addition on our French Summer Camp in France. We offer 3 afternoons of horse-riding with the local riding centre. Run by a local family, the riding centre offer horse-riding for all levels in a spectacular setting.

Private French Lessons

If your children are attending our French Summer Camp with the aim of improving their French for exam preparation purposes, then you can add 3 private lessons per week to the programme. Students work with our experienced teachers to target specific exam preparation or specific skills that they need work on. Especially useful if your children are preparing for a GCSE, IGCSE, IB, AS-level or A-level.

Weekend Activities and Excursions

Students staying at our French Summer Camp in France on a residential basis for more than one week get to take part in some great activities during the weekend. During the week, all students take French lessons in the mornings but at weekends, there are no French classes which means more time for activities and excursions! On Saturday, students enjoy an excursion to a local town or attraction such as Yvoire, Thonon-les-Bains, Evian-les-Bains…. Students often take part in a French language focussed team game or task in the morning before heading to the Lake Geneva to enjoy some beach time and watersports. On a Sunday, students get to enjoy a full-day adventure activity such as Via Ferrata, white-water rafting or a day at an adventure lake with zip wires, SUP (stand up paddle boarding), pedalos, canoes, trampolines, swimming platforms and much more!

All of our activities are designed with the French language focus in mind and students learn and use French during the activities to ensure an immersive experience and continuity throughout the French Summer Camp.
