Send an emailBook NowFirst of all, we’d like to take this opportunity to take anyone reading this article, past and possibly future campers and very Happy New Year! It is only 1st January 2018 but preparations and booking for Alpine French School’s French Summer Camp in France 2018 are in full swing….
Our offices are open all year-round to prepare for the Summer Camp. So what do we do all year-round you may ask? We certainly find a lot to keep ourselves busy! Firstly, we take parent’s comments from the previous year to think about any changes or updates we would like to make to our programmes. Then we go about making these changes in good time for the following summer. For example, this year we have changed many of our activity programmes to give campers better choice and a wider range of suitable activities. You can read more about this here:
We also recruit our French Summer Camp Leaders and French Summer Camp Teachers. Some Camp Leaders and Teachers stay with us all year-round, some come back every summer, but others move on to other employment and different challenges, or they return to their studies so we usually have to find some new faces to join our team! We take this process very seriously as our staff are part of what makes our French Summer Camp a sucess! Candidates go through several interviews and then a full background check by ourselves and the French Ministry for ‘Jeunesse & Sports’ before being offered the role. In France, all French Summer Camp Leaders and Teachers must be quailfied in ‘Animation’ (looking after children in a Summer Camp environment) or teaching. They then receive a full week of training prior to the beginning of the camp to learn the specifities of our French Summer Camp!
In the booking office, Helen, Christelle, Carol and Annelie help parents who are interested in booking our French Summer Camp. We are here to guide parents, help them to choose the right package for their child, answer any questions and offer any advice they may want. Sending a child to a French Summer Camp, especially on our Residential Programme is a big decision and not something that we take lightly. We are more than happy to talk through any aspects of our camp with future campers and their families.
On top of this, we also run GCSE courses and private tuition for juniors visiting the French Alps with their family at other times of the year. Morzine is a popular ski-resort in the winter months so many families come on a skiing holiday and make the most of this time to add in some French tuition for their children. To find out more about this, you can visit the juniors section of our website!
