This iconic pastry celebrates Epiphany, which takes place on January 6th, but in practice, we enjoy it all month long â with family, friends, at work, or even at sports clubs⌠basically wherever people want to share a joyful moment!
The galette is more than just a dessert: itâs a moment of sharing. Traditionally, it contains a fève (a small figurine) hidden inside. Whoever finds it becomes the king or queen of the day and gets to wear the paper crown that comes with the galette.
To make it fair and keep everyone guessing who will find the fève, the youngest person at the table hides under the table and calls out who should receive each slice. This playful custom ensures surprise and laughter for everyone!
