Special Coronavirus Government Training Grant

The French government has been working hard to try and preserve its economy through the Coronavirus pandemic.  It has put several measures in place to try and protect French businesses and their employees.  The latest government funding package relates to employees who are on temporary unemployment ‘chômage partiel’ because of the Coronavirus.  This special initiative is interesting for companies who are interested in developing the skills of their staff during the lockdown period.

As of 14th April 2020, it will be possible to apply for a special training budget for staff who have been placed on temporary unemployment ‘chômage partiel’.

  • These training budgets are automatically approved without question if the cost of the training course is less than 1500 euros TTC.
  • The training course must take place during the period of temporary unemployment
  • The training course must be with an approved training provider (Alpine French School has this status)
  • The training course can be for any level and can include any type of distance learning (eg Skype or Zoom lessons for groups or individuals, with or without e-learning as an addition)

This government initiative is designed to increase the skill level of its workforce during this period of confinement and they are also trying to encourage businesses to make good use of their employees’ time while they are unable to work as usual.  The training budget does not affect any of the regular training budgets that your business is usually entitled to.  This is a completely separate fund.

Unfortunately, at the moment this budget is only available for employees who have been placed on ‘chômage partiel’ and not business owners or auto-entrepreneurs although the situation may change in the future.

Applications open on 14th April 2020 so we can help you prepare your application for after this date.  Please email budgets@alpinefrenchschool.com if you are interested in this special offer for your staff and we will explain more about how it works.
