Summer is fast approaching and many parents are trying to coordinate their family schedule which can be a job in itself! With school trips, sports clubs, family holidays, fun with friends, there can be a lot to fit into the summer holidays. And what if you also have to fit in working?
Summer Camps are becoming a popular choice for school holidays. In many European countries, this has been the case for many years but other countries are just catching on to the trend! There are many types of Summer Camp out there with different areas of focus.
Alpine French School’s French Summer Camp is a language Summer Camp meaning that the main focus is on improving students’ French (or English as we also run English Summer Camps). However we appreciate that it is holidays, so our French Summer Camp is designed with fun in mind too! We have combined language study with a great programme of activities run in French in an amazing location. This is why we have a lot of returning clients who also bring friends with them and recommend us to others.
So what is a typical day like on our French Summer Camp?
Our camp leaders wake our residential students to give them time to get up and ready for breakfast
Breakfast
Fun French Lessons: students are split into groups according to age and ability. Our classes last for 2 x 1.5 hours each morning
Lunch with French conversation
Free time and time to prepare for afternoon activities
Activities: from summer sledging to hiking, swimming, spongeball, water games, assault courses, Olympic games, cultural activities, treasure hunts and much more, there is never a dull moment! Students can also choose to upgrade to include horse-riding or adventure activities such as canyoning, climbing, white-water rafting, via ferrata and adventure park. Activities are all run in French to get students using the language outside of the classroom.
For students joining us on a residential basis, then this is the downtime! In an action-packed schedule, it’s important for students to have some time to check in with family, read, relax and just have some time to themselves.
Dinner
Evening activity. Our camp leaders and students prepare evening activities such as quizzes, welcome parties, discos, table-tennis tournaments, film nights….again activities are all run in French to give a true immersion experience!
