Why Morzine?

The Christmas and New Year celebrations are over and maybe you are looking for a French Summer Camp for your children for the summer holidays 2017? If you are reading this blog, then you have found our website but maybe you have never heard of Morzine and would like to know more about the location of our French Summer Camp.

Morzine is located in the French Alps, just one hour from Geneva airport. Just across the border from Switzerland, Morzine is a ski resort in the winter and a popular tourist destination in the summer months too. Traditionally a farming town, Morzine became a ski resort in the 1950s and grew from then into a bustling mountain town. Fortunately, strict planning regulations have kept Morzine a picturesque town with chalet-style architecture.

Morzine is a great base for a French Summer Camp because it has great sporting infrastructure and offers some amazing activities in stunning surroundings. Morzine is host to mountain lakes and beaches, outdoor pools, tennis courts, skatepark, equestrian centre, climbing sites, adventure parks, ski-lifts open for mountain biking and hiking, rivers for white-water rafting, lakes for stand-up paddle boarding and canoeing or just sunbathing!

Alpine French School’s French Summer Camp is situated in Morzine itself and less than 10 minutes walk from the heart of Morzine. The camp offers outstanding views of the mountains with most of the ensuite rooms having large French windows opening onto a balcony. The camp has plenty of outside space and is within easy walking distance of most of the activities that Morzine has to offer. For our younger campers or activities that are further away, we have our camp minibuses to transport campers. We also go further afield at weekends to visit the surrounding area and we run excursions and adventure activities in the surrounding area including going to Lake Geneva.
