We all speak English and French!
Send an emailBook NowMore and more British ski instructors and ski instructors from different countries are looking to come and work in France. It’s not hard to understand why….with great skiing, several mountain ranges and hundreds of ski resorts, France is a great choice for keen skiers looking to come and work in the mountains.
However, the French system is very competitive and instructors have to work hard to get a licence to work in France! In addition to various skiing courses and other extensive training, one of the things students have to be able to do is to speak French to a certain level. This is understandable as it is common sense that instructors should, at the bare minimum, be able to call the security services in case of an accident and give basic instructions.
So there is a French test that potential instructors must take to ensure that they meet these criteria. All potential ski instructors take the test either face to face or over the phone to ensure that their French meets at least the minimum standards required.
Some people aren’t sure if they would pass the test or not with their current level of French. And, if their French isn’t up to scratch, what they need to do to imprive it.
Laura Berry is an example of a student who came to us not knowing if she would pass or not. After some private tuition focussing on topics that would be covered in the exam and some hard work by Laura swotting up outside of the classroom, she passed :)
“Thanks for all your help in our lessons. Couldn’t have passed without it!!!” Laura Berry
